Seniors! It's game time.

Your high school senior session is an incredible and emotional milestone. And when the day arrives for your senior portrait—it's game time.

These portraits are unlike any other. There is just one goal, to celebrate you!

Your senior session should reflect you as best as it can. We'll talk about outfits (what to wear for at least two different looks), including sports equipment (soccer balls, lifeguard jackets, even musical instruments), and together we'll find a way for your interests to shine. Sometimes that might mean no "props" at all. Some seniors feel most at ease showing up with just themselves and their outfits. It's your choice, and whatever you decide, we'll bring out your personality through posing and location.

Location Choice

Location choice can make such a big difference in the tone of your final gallery. Living here in the Pacific Northwest (Seattle, Redmond, Issaquah, Snoqualmie and beyond), we have a wonderland of locations to choose from. Whether that's in a flower field, or by the mountains, or in a more urban location, we have our pick of it all. I'll send a short questionnaire to help you decide!

I'm a storyteller at heart. And part of the beauty of on-location (outdoor) photo sessions is including the background in my frame. The whole frame should do its part to help tell your own unique story.

Some of my favorite locations have been a little more urban, with the lines of buildings offering eye-catching backdrops that let my subject (you!) shine. But the gorgeous flower field you see in this post hit my favorites list the first time I visited. This senior didn't need help deciding on her outfits; she was ready to go. And when she arrived in this beautiful, flowing pink and purple dress I understood right away why she'd asked for a flower field! She brought a change of clothes and in just one location we got so many different looks.

A Variety of Looks

My goal is to deliver your gallery full of images where each one is one you'd like to hang on your wall. Or set as your profile pic!

To do that, I'll look for anything special you've brought with you or are wearing and I'll include those things in the frame. The first image below is of this senior's bracelets and rings, which had the sweetest story behind them. I love asking about my clients' jewelry because very often there's special meaning to what they wear to the session. Having a variety of looks makes your whole gallery feel like a little peek into your life at this amazing time.

A Showstopper

This is your year. This is your time. You've made it to the end of one of the biggest chapters in your life, and are almost ready to take the next step across a huge threshold of change. It's a time of goodbyes and a time of hellos, both filled with soaring emotions.

My son is a high school senior this year, and my daughter will be next year. I get it! I see them, I see their friends, and for many of them I've watched as the years rolled by, each one filled with new memories, but anchored by the ones that came before. New sports, new activities, from the first time in a play in elementary school to a lead role in a play in high school. Medals won, achievements unlocked, all of it backed by a soundtrack of changing playlists on Spotify.

I love this time! I love these days. And I can't wait to join you for an hour or so and commemorate all that you've worked towards, all that you've done, earned, joined, founded, been a part of—your high school years are a treasure trove of memories. Every senior is a showstopper in their own way, and I can't wait to hear your story. Let's celebrate this incredible milestone with a gorgeous gallery all your own.
